The Shop Fox W1712 is a heavy-duty combination sander built for demanding sanding and shaping work in woodworking shops, fabrication spaces, and serious home workshops. It combines a 6" x 48" sanding belt with a 12" sanding disc and a 1-1/2 HP motor, giving you the versatility to handle edge sanding, surface smoothing, beveling, and end-grain work on a single machine.
The belt operates horizontally, vertically, or at angles in between with a 0-90° tilt range, while the 12" disc and cast-iron work table provide stable support for accurate sanding. A direct ball bearing drive helps deliver smooth, positive power transfer, and the quick-change belt release makes setup faster when switching abrasives.
With two precision-ground cast-iron tables, miter gauge capability, and dust ports sized for standard shop vacuum connections, this model is well suited for woodworkers, cabinet makers, and other users who need a durable, professional-grade sander for frequent shop use.
